Cuteness and Peanut Butter Cup Smores

First time attempting a nap in her crib in her room.  She has been sleeping in the pack n play in our bedroom.  We moved Carter over to his room at four weeks but it just hasn't happened yet with Madelynn.  I just didn't feel ready at four weeks and then she got a cold that lasted quite a while.  I was too nervous with her coughing and gagging to have her in a different room when she is so little.  This nap only lasted 15 minutes but at least we tried and it was a step.  We are planning on working on it in the next week or so.  It is time!

Uncle Jacob and Carter reading together.

I just had to show off my little lady in her leg warmers.  How awesome are these?

Jacob did not want to hold her but he did it anyway...

Then she started to cry and he panicked...
Jay and I just stood there laughing :)

And here is an amazing and delicous dessert that I tried last week for my road trip to Seattle with friends.  They look a little messy but they were so good!

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 16 peanut butter cups, regular size
  • 1 1/2 cups marshmallow fluff

    1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line an 8×8 baking dishing with parchment paper; coat lightly with cooking spray.
    2. In a large bowl of the bowl of stand mixer, beat butter and sugars until fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla until combined. Scrape down the sides. With the mixer on low, stir in the flour, baking powder, salt, and graham cracker crumbs until mixed.
    3. Spread 2/3 of the dough on the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Lightly press the peanut butter cups into the dough, then spread marshmallow fluff on top. Press the remaining dough on a non-stick surface into the shape of an 8×8 square. Place the square on top of the fluff and press down lightly.
    4. Bake for 30 minutes or until the edges just begin to brown. Allow to cool for at least two hours* to give the bars a chance to set, then remove from the pan and cut into squares with a large, sharp knife.

You know when you have clothes in your kids' closet that you just can't wait for them to get big enough to finally be able to wear?  This dress was one of those for me.  And the boots!  I could not wait for her to fit into these.  They were a bit big but it worked and I loved how sweet she looked.  And the boots were to die for.  I love how cute they are making clothes for babies now.

What is better than a nap with daddy?

Max discovered Madelynn's crib.  Don't worry...when we start having her sleep in there we won't allow the cat or all the stuffed animals :)

    First smile caught on camera...
