My perfect day!

Yesterday we went to Bauman Farms Pumpkin Patch. I have been going to Bauman's for years and still love it! This was Carter's first trip to the pumpkin patch and I was filled with true excitement to finally be taking my own child to the farm! On our way there, I told Jay that going to the pumpkin patch is what I look forward to about fall the most. And to be able to do it with my family made for the perfect day! Carter will never remember any of it but I am thankful for the memories and he will always have the pictures to look at! He, of course, loved the animals and could stare at them all day. He also really liked the pumpkins! We bought him a little mini one that he couldn't let go of. He held it all the way home in the car. He got to go on his first swing and his first teeter totter. It was a great day with my boys and we had amazing weather...almost too hot actually!

His first time on a swing and he loved it! He had pure joy coming from his eyes and face!

These two pictures sum up my joy in life! My two loves just loving their time together with big smiles on their faces! I know I am being super cheesy but I love these two so much!

His first pumpkin! This one was actually daddy's and we got me a smaller one and Carter and even smaller one.

Thank you Lord for a beautiful day with my family!

Alaska teddy bear

Before Carter was born, my mom got him this teddy bear from her Alaskan cruise. We just pulled it down for Carter to play with and he loved it! I think he mostly liked the nose. It was constantly in his mouth!

This was the face he made getting ready for the nose to go in his mouth.

Tulips...the before pictures

Last Spring we went to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm and bought a bunch of tulip bulbs. We went and picked them up last week. Jay planted half of them in our flower bed under the living room window. This was one of our first big projects in the front yard. Now we just need to figure out where to plant the rest. In the Spring, I will post the "after" pictures of them in bloom.

Blue Eyed Beauty

I thought these pictures really show off his blue eyes. His eyes are usually the first thing people comment on when they see Carter.

I have realized that all I do is brag about Carter on my blog but I guess that is what it is for. This is the place I get to tell Carter all the amazing things about him! Others get to read it too which is fun but my main purpose for this blog is to journal and scrapbook his life in an easier format. So bare with me because it probably won't change. :)

I also wanted to add a picture of him at 7 months old because I didn't get one on his 7 month post.

7 months!

Carter turned 7 months yesterday! I am amazed at how fast 7 months can fly! He is a beautiful little boy with so much personality. Being a mom to Carter is exactly what I always hoped and prayed for. Here are a few things about Carter at 7 months...
-He started crawling two days ago! He loves this little puffer fish that is for the bathtub. He saw it sitting a couple feet in front of him and just decided that he had to get it and rolling just wouldn't work. It was probably a little bit more like an army crawl but it was a crawl! We had lots of witnesses too! I had some college friends over and their babies and he crawled in front of them for the first time. I am pretty sure he was influenced by Ellie that night. Ellie is my friends little girl who is only five days older than Carter but she has been crawling for over a month. He couldn't let a girl show him up. Thanks Ellie!!
-He is eating food twice a day now. Cereal, oatmeal, fruits, and veggies are a part of his daily diet. We tried the little Gerber puffs but he HATES them! Last night we bought cheerios and he will tolerate them but he doesn't love them. I don't know how we are going to get him to eat solid food!
-He is now sleeping so well! He has gone through phases at night. For a while he would sleep through the night and then he would go a while with one feeding in the night. For the last couple of weeks he has been consistently sleeping until after 7. Today it was 7:45!! I feel so much better when I get a full nights sleep with no interruptions!
-Even without crawling (which is still second to rolling) he can get everywhere! He rolls and slides all over the living room. He is getting good and flopping his head down softly on the hard wood floors, thankfully. This is when I wish we had carpet!
-He loves people! He smiles for almost everyone! Sometimes he can get a little sensitive though. If he gets startled or there is too much noise, he will do a little cry first but then warms up pretty quickly.
-I love that he is outgoing and crazy :). But I also love his sensitive side! He has a sweet soul. I think he is the perfect mix of his daddy in that way!
-He still naps at 3-4 times a day. Usually it is 3 times, morning, afternoon, and evening and then goes to bed between 8 and 8:30. Every once in a while his naps are a little shorter so he ends up getting four naps in.
-He is really good at running errands and shopping. He just plays in his car seat or in the cart and watches everyone that goes by. I am thankful for that!
-He is in all six month clothes which means anything that is 6 months, 6-9 months, or 6-12 months. A lot of the 6-12 month clothes are a little big though.
-He is in size 3 diapers.
-He has hair!! It is very light blond and all over his head!
-Bath time is still his favorite part of the day.
-He sees a camera and most of the time breaks out in a smile. It's like he knows exactly what he is supposed to do.

Again...we are so thankful for our little boy!

Date Night!!

We went to Bullwinkle's Family Fun Center for a date night. Grandma stayed with Carter and put him to bed for us and we had the whole evening out. We went out for dessert too! It was a great night and a much needed break together!

A hole in one! We each got two that night actually.

Oregon State Fair

Carter loved all the animals in the petting zoo!
