3 years ago today...

Three years ago today I met you Jay. That day still stands out in my head so vividly! We have many people to be thankful for! Many people came together to make a plan and they made sure it happened. They were planning and scheming long before either of us knew anything about it. I remember driving up to Jeanette's house just a minute or so after you in your red mustang, and I thought two things. 1. Wow, cool car. 2. I don't want to meet him standing on the front porch so I am going to wait in the car for a minute. It was dark out so I couldn't see you very well but I knew you were tall. I knocked on the door of a house where I really knew no one and met 10 wonderful people including you. My first impression of you was tall and handsome. You leaned over to me and shook my hand, which impressed me. The rest of the evening was spent talking as a group and getting to know each other. Although, I use the words "each other" very loosely since mostly it was everyone getting to know me. I will always remember Leon asking me so many questions. You would think it would have made me nervous but I actually felt right at home. The Grumbo's and van Niekirks have a way of making people feel comfortable. I am so thankful for that day! I didn't know then that I would soon marry you but I knew I liked you and wanted to know more about you. I know most people remember their wedding anniversary the most but I feel like this anniversary is pretty special too. I love you Jay and I am so glad we met. You have changed my whole world! I feel like the most blessed girl on earth to get to spend the rest of my life with you! I love you!

Just a glimpse at what Carter has been up to lately...

Carter got new fire truck jammies. I love them!! Apparently he didn't feel the same emotion toward them that I did. (It was bed time too and trying to take a picture when he was so tired was probably not the best planning on my part.)

He discovered his old car seat and loves to play in it.

He is a little monkey!

Is it possible for an eight month old to make this big of a mess?!?!?!

He discovered the dishwasher. Fun for him but not for mommy!

He decided cheese was actually good! I tried for two weeks and then one day he liked it. He isn't super great at feeding himself yet. Somehow it ends up on his forehead.

He learned how to stand up on his crib. I walked in to find him like this. I knew the day was probably coming soon, but it was still a surprise.

And...the dreaded fireplace! I can't keep him away from this thing to save my life! I tried to pad it with a blanket, he just pulled the blanket right off and climbed back up. This little guy gets into everything that he isn't supposed to! I need to get more creative!

My little giraffe!

Carter's first Halloween and first time trick or treating. We are not huge Halloween people but it is fun to do a cute costume and a little trick or treating. We just took him over to his Grandparents houses. He actually seemed to have a fun time in his costume.

My Dad's Tim Lincecum wig. He is a pitcher for the Giants. We had to try it out on Carter.

Some firsts and some cuteness!

First time pulling up onto his knees. Yes, I know it is on the fireplace but I was right there to catch him!

First time writing on himself with a pen. I was at the grocery store for this one and daddy and Carter were having fun. Jay said he did this by himself though.

First time sporting a real Giants baseball cap. The Giants are our team so it is a good week in baseball for us. Really its more for Grandpa but we are excited too!

Some cuteness... This was not the first time he stood on his own. These pictures are out of order.

And then...
His first time standing up all on his own. Throughout the evening he did it many more times. He learned how to do it and mastered it in one day. This morning it was pretty funny watching him try to do it in his footed jammies. He ended up doing the splits every time.
